It’s time to start thinking about the summer. Imagine Action Theatre Camp is signing up students for the children’s theatre camp in June and the teen theatre camp in July. Students that love to act, sing, or dance, have a fun place to attend this summer and make friends while putting on a show.
The children’s theatre camp starting June 3 will have a comi-con theme for the show they create together. “It will be full of comic book characters, science fiction characters, and fantasy creatures!” exclaims co-director, Pamela Neuok. The camp is weekdays, Monday through Friday until the show on June 29 at 7pm. Students that have just graduated kindergarten through third grade, attend from 10am to 12pm. Children from 4th through 6th grade will attend from 10am to 3 pm. “This camp is about self-esteem and making friends that share the same likes,” states co-director Ruby Quinn, “we have fun singing and dancing, playing theatre games, and doing fun projects along with putting on a show.”
Teen students from the ages of 12 to 18 will be putting together the musical, “Peter and the Starcatcher.” in the month of July. The camp starts July 8 and will continue weekdays, 10 am to 3pm until the shows on August 2 – 4. “The teen theatre camp is a wonderful opportunity for young people to have a safe place to create in a positive atmosphere with the full support of its cast members.” states Ruby Quinn. “ “We hear so much about bullying, and one of our most vital objectives, is to hold each other up as we take a chance getting up in front of others and being vulnerable,” continues Quinn.
Enrollment forms can be found at the Robson Performing Arts Center’s box office. Every child is important to the program and that is why every child that wants to attend has the opportunity.
