Claremore Police Chief Stan Brown used his time before city council Monday night to share the news of a successful No Shave November campaign.
He said the officers, through personal contributions and community donations, raised money to purchase Christmas gifts for Claremont Elementary School students.
“As of tonight we raised $14,850,” he said, adding that any money leftover after gifts were purchased would be used to buy an educational resource or tool for the school.
“We have just a tremendous community, and a tremendous staff,” he said. “In just one month we got to just $150 short of $15,000 and that’s outstanding.”
A last minute pledge from city council member Justin Michael pushed the department over the edge to hit that $15,000 goal.
Brown thanked him for his contribution and invited him to be present when Santa and the CPD team deliver the gifts.
