The Sequoyah Elementary fifth grade Coding Club recently took two teams to an underwater robotics competition in Jenks at the Regional Seaperch competition hosted by Tulsa STEM Alliance.
The Sequoyah Elementary teams placed second and sixth respectively among the 16 teams registered. This was Sequoyah Elementary's first time to compete in the competition that requires teams to complete the following categories: Judges interview, obstacle course, speed and then, retrieval. All categories are timed and teams are scored on how they performed. Prior to the competition, the teams were responsible for building a sea perch, which they completed over Christmas Break.
The hard work and team work it took to pull off the great job both teams accomplished is definitely something to celebrate.
