Show your support by giving blood with Oklahoma Blood Institute at the 5th Annual Rogers County Boots & Badges blood drive on Thursday, August 8th or Friday, August 9th. By giving blood at this two day drive, donors will show their support for the firefighters and law enforcement officers who protect their community.
Anyone 16 years or older* is urged to stop by the First Baptist Church North Campus Student Center (4th & Chickasaw) Thursday between 3p.m. and 7p.m. and Friday 9a.m. to 3:00 p.m. All donors will receive:
• A special-edition Boots & Badges t-shirt.
•Their choice of one entry to Frontier City, one entry to Science Museum Oklahoma or two entries to Safari Joe’s H2O waterpark.
• Hotdogs sponsored by Reasor’s Claremore.
Although all blood types are needed, donors with O-negative blood are particularly urged to give. Only seven percent of the population has this blood type, but it is the ‘universal type’ and can be used in an emergency when a patient’s blood type is not known.
“We’re pleased to partner again with Oklahoma Blood Institute on our Boots and Badges Blood Drive Challenge,” said Deputy Tucker, Rogers County Sheriff’s Office. “Claremore is such a giving community with making sure we have blood available for local patients, including those treated at Children’s, Indian and Veteran hospitals statewide. We are aiming for 100 donations this year! While I hope sheriff’s takes the win again, we know it’s the blood recipients who are the real winners.”
Appointments for the blood drive may be made by calling 877-340-8777 or visiting obi.org. Walk-ins are always welcome!
