A Chelsea couple is facing felony charges after their 6-year old child reported that they "had sex in front of him" and "used drugs with needles."

This is according to information filed in Rogers County District Court where felony child neglect charges were brought against Christopher Gilmore and Kara Benight.

Rogers County Sheriff's Office detailed testimony from the juvenile in the case who reportedly said the couple would have sex while he was in bed with them, that "he had been through a lot in his life" and that "his parents would hang out with bad people and not take care of him."

The child is said to have told deputies "he had seen both of his parents do drugs and shoot themselves with needles." Officers stated that the child shared details of domestic events in which the couple would "fight and hit each other."

In an interview with law enforcement, Benight is quoted in saying that they did not intentionally use meth in front of the child, but he did see them shoot up.

Records show Gilmore denied using drugs in front of the child but did stipulate he "had been high" around him.

"Gilmore said that [the juvenile] did find a bag of needles that they used," deputies reported. "…Chris said he has been doing good lately and only failing drug tests every now and then because of stress."

Bond was set at $100,000 each.
