An area business was on the receiving end of a city of Claremore expenditure.
City Engineer Garrett Ball said when it came time to award a construction contract for the Highlands and Parkland lift stations' generators and fencing, a total of eight bids were received
While there was a wide spread between highest and lowest bid, $158,000 and $274,000, the contract was ultimately awarded to MJM Construction of Inola.
The total expenditure totaled $158,855, according to Ball.
Mayor Bill Flanagan said despite the drastic difference in price tags, the city did their due diligence in determining the business had the experience necessary to complete the project.
Ball said the project is simply the addition of standby generators and fencing to two existing sewer lift stations.
