Kum & Go plans to tear down their building as well as the buildings currently east of them and rebuild a larger station with more gas pumps and indoor space.

The Kum&Go at the intersection of Lynn Riggs Blvd and Blue Starr Drive has plans for a large-scale renovation in coming months.

The first step of that renovation, getting approval from the City of Claremore to rezone their land to high intensity commercial use, passed unanimously Monday night.

The parcels that were rezoned included the buildings that currently sit to the east of the gas station, which will be torn down to make room for the larger station.

City Planner Jill Ferenc said, “Having a larger lot will allow them to have more room for navigation through the parking areas and to the gas pumps.”

Ferenc highlighted that the improvement was in line with the City’s comprehensive plan for future growth.
