Claremore Veteran Center renovating pond

The Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs is renovating the pond at the Claremore Veterans Center.

“The fountain in the middle of the pond is not working, the pond wouldn’t hold water and it needed to be dredged really, really bad because silt wouldn’t allow the water to stay in it, and attempts to populate the pond with fish in the past for our residents … all those fish ended up dying,” ODVA Public Information officer Shane Faulkner said.

After digging out the pond and replacing the broken fountain, they plan restock it with plenty of fish.

Faulkner said the renovations “will increase the quality of life for our residents at the Claremore Veterans Facility.”
