Rogers County Health Department, 2664 OK-88, is hosting a drive-through clinic for the flu vaccine on Friday, November 6, 2020, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., according to a media release.
The clinic is being offered to adults 18 years and older. A mask will be required to receive a flu vaccine and we ask that individuals stay in their vehicles.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends a flu vaccine by the end of October, before flu begins spreading in the community. The flu vaccine can keep a person from getting the flu and make the illness less severe if a person gets it.
Individuals under the age of 18 and anyone unable to attend may call the Rogers County Health Department at 918-341-3166 for an appointment. Appointments are also required for other immunizations.
While flu vaccines will not prevent COVID-19, they will reduce the burden of flu illnesses, hospitalizations and deaths on the health care system and conserve scarce medical resources for the care of people with COVID-19.
