Zeigler and Hutchcraft were arrested on felony allegations of shooting with intent to kill.

A Talala duo has been arrested on felony allegations of shooting with intent to kill.

According to Rogers County Sheriffs Office, Cody Hutchcraft and Heather Zeigler were arrested April 3 on felony allegations.

“Cody Hutchcraft got into a verbal argument on the phone with [the alleged victim in the case] and they agreed they would meet at his home and fight,” according to RCSO records. “When [the alleged victim] arrived at the residence he was intoxicated and had his two minor children with him, he had the kids exit his vehicle and go inside the home.”

Records show that once the children were inside the house the verbal argument began and “Hutchcraft removed a .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol from concealment and fired two rounds into the ditch where the other man was parked.”

Deputies report that the verbal argument continued and Hutchcraft “intentionally fired five more rounds at the vehicle the other man was inside.”

Deputies said a total of five bullet holes were found in the vehicle.

When deputies arrived on scene and began investigating they came into contact with Heather Zeigler, who they said witnessed the shooting and “gave false and misleading statements as to who the shooter was in an attempt to conceal the true identity of the shooter and aid Hutchcraft in avoiding or escaping arrest.

The two have been arrested on felony allegations but charges have not yet been filed in Rogers County District Court.
