Electric revenues will contribute over $9 million to the city's general fund/governmental operations account this year.
According to Claremore City Manager Jim Thomas, "Electric revenues will transfer $9,950,000 to support the general fund governmental operations."
Of this total, Thomas said, "Almost $8.5 million are directly supporting public safety: police, and fire departments."
Thomas outlined this facet of the city's budget for the upcoming fiscal year during a presentation this week. The budget will not formally be approved until the May 20 meeting.
