A former Oologah teacher was sentenced to five-year deferred sentence and forbidden from working in any school in the future.
This week 30-year old Haylie Smart pleaded no contest to assault with intent to commit a felony, according to Rogers County District Court records. She had been charged with second-degree rape in August 2018.
The judge sentenced Smart to a five-year deferred sentence, forbid her from having any contact with the victim reported in the case, and forbid her from working in any school in the future.
Rogers County court records allege that Smart engaged in a sexual relationship with a student around October or November of 2017, two to three months before the student turned 18.
