The ongoing water system review is just over 40 percent complete.
The entirety of the Claremore water system of is under review.
Signs posted around town alert neighborhoods that fire hydrant and water valve assessment is underway.
This week, Claremore's City Engineer, Garrett Ball, said the work is roughly 40 percent complete and that things are going smoothly.
We're doing a system- wide assessment of the water system," Ball said at the start of the project. "We are working Thursdays and Fridays on that project. We are making our way through the entire system, finding and checking valves, servicing hydrants and scour flushing the mains."
Ball said this assessment includes approximately 950 fire hydrants and 2,000 valves.
"We are also updating our maps. The end goal is to build data to complete a system wide improvement project late this year or early next year."
