Effective this week Claremore City Hall has re-opened for utility billing and access to the city clerk's office.
"As you know we've had that shut down doing appointment only for while," explained acting City Manager John Feary. "With COVID numbers trending down and the fact that the staff in those departments that interact with the public are protected by glass partitions and have limited contact we're inching our way back to normal operations."
He said extra sanitization procedures will still be used.
"Municipal court will resume Sept. 24 in the modified fashion with social distancing and the judge will be in the clerk's office operating behind glass. All necessary interaction with one-on-one meetings with utility and clerk's office we ask that staff and customer have a mask on," Feary said.
He added that Claremore Police Department has re-opened their lobby.
"We have not reverted back to all access with community center, library, or Rec Center. We are still doing social distancing and limited occupancy and things of that nature," he said.
Feary said over the next few weeks he will have one-on-one discussions with the council members to learn if/when they want to consider returning to in-person council meetings.
