Parade participants come from all over Green Country, all with the shared commitment to honor Veterans.

This year’s parade will kick off from the Claremore Expo Center promptly at 11:11 a.m. School bands, student organizations, classic cars and motorcycles, businesses, community groups and individuals all join in the parade. Applications to be included are on the Claremore VFW website at and need to be turned in by October 31. The earlier the application, the earlier in the parade lineup entries will be.

Prior to the parade at 10 a.m. at the Expo Center Flagpole, the Claremore Navy JrROTC will perform the Flag Retirement ceremony, everyone is welcome to attend.

After the parade the annual Veterans Luncheon will be held at Claremore’s McKinney/Montgomery American Legion. The usual Thanksgiving menu will be avail- able. This event is one that is much anticipated every year, where up to 300 people are served at no charge. The American Legion, VFW and DAV all support this event, and the Jr.ROTC is usually on hand to help serve. This is truly a community event, and all Veterans and their families are invited.
