Sober doesn’t have to mean somber this holiday season.

Everyone is invited to a free night of safe, sober, family fun with Light of Hope’s Night of Hope, New Year’s Eve Celebration.

“We want to bring the community together in a family friendly sober environment, to have fun and fellowship,” said Light of Hope Director Layla Freeman.

Freeman said that the holidays can be hard, especially on those who are in recovery from some kind of addiction.

For those practicing sobriety, this party is a chance to meet people who have walked the same path.

For others, it is a fun party full of games, music, food and prizes.

Some of the games available to play will be bingo, bunco, minute to win it, jenga, yard yahtzee, dominos, trivia, and hula hoop and corn hole competitions.

Individuals and businesses all over the country have sponsored prizes, and door prizes will be awarded every 15 minutes.

A DJ will play music throughout the night, providing an opportunity for people to show off their talent at karaoke.

Food, water, coffee, tea and soda will be provided.

“This will be a great opportunity to have some fun and bring in the new year right,” Freeman said.

The party will be at the Claremore Conference Center, 1400 West Country Club Road, from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.
