Convicted murderer, Derek Glenn Arnold, 39, will spend the rest of his life in prison with no chance for parole.
Jurors made the decision in the earliest hours of Saturday morning, 1:15 a.m. after listening to a full day of testimony from Arnold’s family. The jury began deliberations to decide the sentence at 11:45 Friday night.
Co-defendant Eric G. Hamilton, 30, testified against Arnold in exchange for life sentence with the possibility of parole, according to Assistant District Attorney Edith Singer. Life is considered to be a 45 year sentence, with 85 percent of that to be served — about 38 years.
