A water line break on Blue Starr Drive Monday afternoon caused a dramatic drop or absence of water pressure in large parts of Claremore, affecting Claremore Regional Hospital, Claremore Indian Hospital, and Centrilift, among others.
According to Darrel Golbek, director of utilities, City of Claremore, around 12:30 reports of “severe drops in water pressure” began coming in from around the city, the source of which was traced to a 16-inch line between the rodeo grounds and Faulkner Drive on the north side of Blue Starr Drive.
According to officials' reports, Claremore Regional Hospital was without water for that time.
Once the point of the break was traced, city crews were dispatched to the scene and restored water and water pressure within an hour, Golbek said.
The source of the water break has yet to be determined.
