Former Oklahoma Gov. George Nigh will be in Claremore Wednesday, serving as master of ceremonies for the Claremore Wall of Fame induction of Ludmila and Frank C. Robson.
“We are honored that former governor Nigh will be hosting this year's Claremore Wall of Fame event,” said Wayne McCombs, Destination Claremore committee member and executive director, J.M. Davis Arms & Historical Museum. “Gov. Nigh has been a major influence on the state of Oklahoma’s tourism industry for decades, and he has always been a promoter of Claremore’s tourist attractions.”
Nigh was governor of Oklahoma four times, between 1963 and 1987 and served four terms as Lt. Governor of the state 1959 through 1963 and from 1967 to 1975.
The Claremore Wall of Fame ceremony starts with a social hour at 5 p.m. followed by the ceremony at 6 p.m. at the J.M. Davis Arms and Historical Museum in downtown Claremore at 5th and J.M. Davis Blvd.
Previous Claremore Wall of Fame inductees have included Patti Page, J.M. Davis, W.R. Howell, Clem McSpadden, Andy Payne, Lynn Riggs, Clem Rogers, Will Rogers, Stuart Roosa, Helen Walton and Laurie Williams.
