Share the Spirit kicks off its annual fundraising campaign this Thanksgiving.

Share the Spirit President Dan DeLozier said the goal this year is $20,000.

The Share the Spirit Foundation has been striving to help as many people in Rogers County by providing food baskets to those in need since 1987.

Last year over 640 food baskets were distributed.

Food baskets will be filled with canned vegetables, fruit, a ham, a turkey and a variety of traditional holiday foods based on the size of the family.

Anyone can donate online at https://bit.ly/3VgWHo8 or in person at the Claremore Daily Progress, 315 W. Will Rogers Blvd.

So far $150 have been donated through early donations from Frances A. Pranger and Bill D. and Katheryn Hinesley Jones.

Along with monetary donations, Share the Spirit is looking for canned food donations.

“The more we get, the more people get,” he said.

Canned food drives will take place at Roosa Elementary, Northeast Tech and during the annual Claremore Area Chamber of Commerce Christmas parade at 6 p.m. Dec. 3.

The Grinch will be walking with a cart in the parade for Share the Spirit so attendees can donate a canned item.

Over 250 people signed up to receive a Christmas dinner within the first three days that sign-ups opened.
