A man accused of exposing himself to three female drivers was arrested Monday evening in Rogers County.
Tyrel Welch, Chelsea, 34, was arrested by Rogers County Sheriff’s Office, who reports that the man is currently on probation for an aggravated sex crime in New York.
In three different instances, Welch reportedly got the attention of female drivers, raised his hips up to window level, and exposed himself to the women.
This is according to RCSO records who recount the details told to them by three Rogers County women.
Records show Welch was released from prison in July of 2018 and is currently required to wear a GPS ankle monitor.
The GPS monitor confirmed that Welch was in the area of each reported incident, according to RCSO.
Welch was arrested in a traffic stop Monday on Hwy. 66 and he reportedly “denied all allegations made against him.”
“I made contact with all three victims and asked if they could come in and attempt to possibly identify the suspect by a photo lineup,” investigator Chase Cornish reported. “Two of the three victims identified Tyrel as the suspect driving the vehicle and showing them his genitals. Also both victims said they believed Tyrel was attempting to run them off the road while trying to get them to look over at him.”
Welch was booked into Rogers County Jail on three counts of indecent exposure, after former felony conviction, and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon.
Sheriff Scott Walton shared that Welch’s criminal history “is a colorful one.”
RCSO reports show “charges of indecent exposure in Arkansas in 2011, first degree forcible compulsion and second degree causing physical injury in New York in 2013.”
Additionally, he has been charged with being fugitive from justice, two counts of assault on a police officer, resisting an officer, multiple instances of Driving Under the Influence and traffic violations.
