Inola Band Director

Excitement. Energy. Passion. These words describe Inola’s new band director, Brennan Marcotte. A graduate from Northeastern State University, Marcotte is an Inola alum who is also an accomplished musician.

Marcotte is a professional jazz and popular music trumpet player. Outside of teaching, he is involved in three bands, The Bear Foot Sound Explorers (a jazz combo), Studio House Project (folksy New Age) and Doc Fell & Co. (red dirt country music).

As a teacher, Macotte stated he is, “committed to teaching my students life skills, including problem solving, critical thinking and collaboration/teamwork skills.”

He added, “As a band director, I understand that I have immense responsibility, as I might control an activity that is the sole reason someone may show up to school.”

Marcotte believes he has a duty to ensure his students know they are important and that he cares about their success in high school, and more importantly after graduation.

Marcotte closed by saying, “I love teaching because of the joy it brings myself when I see the kids work hard and understand the value of long term success with a ‘drop in the bucket everyday,’ as his former trumpet teacher would say.”
