Jennifer Maupin, former news editor with The O’Colly, has joined the Claremore Daily Progress in a multi-purpose role.
Maupin will be responsible for a plethora of duties including writing, editing, designing pages and taking photos.
Maupin graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Multimedia journalism in May. She received the 2019 Community Impact Award from the Oklahoma Business Ethics Consortium and placed first in the Texas Regional Ethics Bowl.
“Jennifer’s resume was packed with valuable skills, but what stood out to me the most was her eagerness to grow and learn,” Claremore Progress news editor Chelsea Weeks said. “I look forward to working with her and seeing all she accomplishes in this community.”
Maupin was born and raised in Tulsa. Throughout high school and college, Maupin was involved in speech and debate.
“I’m eager to become involved in the Claremore community,” Maupin said. “I love reporting and I’m excited to start my career in such a welcoming town.”
