Animal cruelty charges have been filed against an Inola woman whose dog was malnourished to the point its ribs and spin were protruding.
This is according to Rogers County Sheriff's Office, who reports that Amber Sund is facing felony charges.
Deputies reportedly received word of a malnourished animal. They arrived at the residence and saw a "gray and white canine attached to a chain that was extremely malnourished."
Deputies report, "The canine was so malnourished that I could observe the ribs of the animal protruding along with the hip bones and spinal column. I observed three dog bowls: One large bowl was turned over, the second was empty and out of reach of the canine, the third only contained leaves."
Charges were filed against Sund Monday in Rogers County District Court.
