Many local governmental bodies have moved their meetings to a virtual platform since the onset of COVID-19.

The Board of County Commissioner said they've received questions in the last few days asking when they will return to in-person meetings.

Commissioner Steve Hendrix said there had been discussion on the idea of returning to live meetings after this week.

"I guess it's a week by week thing. I think the convenience of this does really work out well for me in my situation but I'm definitely willing to make it to the courthouse for an in-person meeting. I'm open for either one," said Commissioner Ron Burrows. "But let's continue to ponder that for the rest of the week."

Claremore's Acting City Manager John Feary said the same.

"We are continuing to monitor the health data in Claremore on a weekly basis. At this time we will continue the virtual council meetings through  Aug. 17 and re-evaluate each week based on the numbers," said Feary.
