You better watch out. You better not cry. Better not pout. I'm telling you why. Santa Claus is coming to Oologah.

The Oologah Board of Trustees, police officers and chamber of commerce are hosting a town-wide christmas light contest, leading up to the christmas parade on Saturday, Dec. 15.

The residential christmas light contest will run Dec. 1 through 14.

Town trustees and police officers will drive around town throughout those two weeks, and keep track of the addresses with decorations they love.

The three homes with the most votes will win prizes of $200, $100 and $50.

The chamber of commerce will host and judge the decoration contest for local business.

The top three businesses will receive a plaque.

Winners will be announced at the Christmas Parade.

The kids in girl and boy land should prepare for a jubilee.

Festivities will begin at 3 p.m. with pop up shops along Cooweescoowee Parkway leading into Oologah.

The boy scouts will be handing out hot chocolate.

The parade begins at 5:30, promising little tin horns, little toy drums, rooty toot toots and rummy tum tums.

And of course, Santa Claus.

The final day to register a parade float or group in Wednesday, Dec. 12 at town hall.

Celebration details were provided by Oologah Deputy Clerk Kathy McLaughlin. For more information you can reach McLaughlin at 918-443-2783.
