Wood, a 2019 graduate of Sequoyah High School, was among 100 outstanding seniors from Oklahoma public schools who were honored by the foundation as Academic All-Staters. She received an Academic All-State scholarship sponsored by RCB Bank. The Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence is a statewide nonprofit that recognizes and encourages academic excellence in Oklahoma’s public schools. Henry, a Cherokee language teacher, was Wood’s honored teacher guest at the banquet.

A National Merit semi-finalist, Wood is captain of the varsity cross country team and also participates in basketball and track. She is a four-time state medalist in cross country. She has honed her leadership skills as team captain of the Cherokee Language and Cultural Program. She is active in Oklahoma Honor Society and Oklahoma Indian Honor Society. She volunteers at the Will Rogers Library and with the Good Samaritan Ministries. She plans to attend the University of Tulsa.
