Since 1987, the people of Rogers County have marshaled their resources to meet a need in the community – a need for food.
Each year Share the Spirit provides between 600 and 800 Christmas dinners to local families. In 2020, a year that has been difficult on almost everyone, the organization is planning to meet a bigger need than ever before.
Each basket contains fresh, traditional holiday foods as well as canned vegetables and a frozen turkey or ham.
Proof of need is not, and has never been, required to get a Christmas food basket. If you are worried about making Christmas happen for your family this year, let us take one concern off your plate, and put Christmas dinner on it. All you have to do is ask.
Residents of Catoosa can sign up to receive a food basket on weekdays at Catoosa City Hall, 214 S. Cherokee, Nov. 17-Dec. 11, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Residents of Inola can sign up on Saturdays at the Inola Ministry House, 101 SW. 1st St, Nov. 21, Nov. 28, Dec. 5, or Dec. 12, from 9 a.m. to noon.
Everyone else with a Rogers County address can sign up at the Rogers County Building, 416 S Brady St. in Claremore, on Tuesday Nov. 17, Nov. 24, Dec. 1, or Dec. 8, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Share the Spirit Board of Directors has set a $20,000 goal this year to meet the increased needs in the community.
