Scott Hopkins was arrested for shooting with intent to kill following an altercation at Buy-N-Bye convenience store on Will Rogers Blvd.

According to Claremore Police Department records, officers responded to a fight in progress with shots fired.

Officers were told on scene that [the alleged victim] had “just been in a fight with Hopkins’ son and fled when he saw Hopkins advancing towards him while drawing a gun from a holster on hips hip. [The alleged victim] stated that he continued driving in reverse down a side street until he was able to turn around and flee to a residence on First Street where Hopkins and his son confronted him.”

Hopkins reportedly told officers he saw his son “getting pummeled” and went to intervene.

He said he “wanted to prevent the man from getting away so he shot the radiator of his truck” and that he only fired one shot.
