Editor’s note: An early version of this article appearing online erroneously stated that the church provided the apartment. In addition, the list of needed items has changed.
Churches in the Claremore Ministerial Alliance are requesting bedding for a family of five for whom they are providing emergency shelter.
The local mother and four children have an apartment that is currently unfurnished.
The Ministerial Alliance is requesting Queen size sheets, mattress pad, comforters, blankets and pillows; three twin bed sheets, mattress pad, comforters, blankets and pillows; sets of five plates, glasses, cups and flatware; two shower curtains and liners, bath mats, towels and wash cloths; lamps; various cooking utensils; a kitchen table and dining chairs; household chairs; dressers; bookshelves; laundry baskets; a microwave; and a washer and dryer.
New or gently used items may be left at First Christian Church, 200 East 5th.
Office entrance is off Florence Ave.
“Right now our main concern is bedding and a place for them to lay their heads at night,” said Laurie Ault of Claremore First United Methodist Church.
“Whatever is oversupplied will be passed on to others in need,” said Pastor Charles Ragland of First Christian Church.
