Construction on the new Verdigris Activity Center, which broke ground exactly one year ago, will wrap up in time varsity basketball.
While still apprehensive about setting a firm completion date for the public, Superintendent Mike Payne said construction crews seem confident that the project will be complete before January.
“Their anticipation and real goal is to make sure we play our January basketball games in there,” Payne said.
The 52,000-square-foot facility, with three gymnasiums, a stage, and seating for 2,000, cost $11.5 million.
The community funded the project through a bond passed in 2018.
