Visit Claremore has launched a new website - visitclaremore.org - to promote tourism across the region.
The new site features an improved user and mobile experience, modern layout, new visuals and narratives and a user-generated content section showcasing photography from residents, businesses and visitors about all that Claremore has to offer.
“Our new website simplifies the user experience so that information can be easily accessed,” said Tanya Andrews, director of Visit Claremore. “I especially love the opportunity to tell our story through the lens of people who live and visit Claremore.”
In May, Visit Claremore launched a photography contest challenging people on social media to share photos of their favorite Claremore destinations using the hashtags #VisitClaremore and #2021PhotoContest. Steve Fairley’s photo of the Will Rogers Memorial Museum at sunset, pictured above, was selected as the winner.
In addition to being featured on the website, he received a gift certificate to J. Farley’s Pub and a four-pack of tickets to the 75th annual Will Rogers Stampede PRCA Rodeo. The contest will continue through July with new monthly prizes of unique experiences in Claremore and the opportunity to be featured on the website.
Fairley, a retired union carpenter from California who has lived in Claremore for the past ten years, said this about his submission: “My inspiration for this photo is my love for capturing sunrises and sunsets.”
“Steve’s photo expresses Claremore’s beauty and history in such a unique way. We look forward to featuring the experiences of both visitors and the people who live and work here,” said John Feary, Claremore City Manager. “Visit Claremore is also launching new online campaigns to complement the new website with a focus on attractions like our trail system and Route 66 experiences, as well as the many opportunities to dine, shop and stay in Claremore.”
Featured categories include Eat, Explore, Stay, Events and Group Travel. There is also a calendar of events, historical section and links to partner organizations. Users can sign up to receive a printed Claremore Visitor’s Guide.
