Rogers State University invites alumni, friends and Hillcat fans of all ages to its Homecoming 2018 gameday celebration on Sat., Nov. 17 in Claremore. Public homecoming activities start at 11:30 a.m. Saturday with the Hillcat Tailgating Party, a pre-game, family-friendly celebration featuring a photo booth, inflatables and games held outside the Claremore Expo Center where the basketball games will be played. All pre-game tailgating is free and open to the public.

Bring the kids and join the fun making Fall Leaf Wreaths at the Will Rogers Library! Materials will be provided or you can bring your own leaves. Sign up is encouraged but drop-ins are always welcome! 11 a.m. - noon. Please note parents must participate with their children.

Victorian-themed Christmas celebration in the heart of Claremore, Dickens on the Boulevard, is a free, family-friendly, fun event for all ages. Attendees can enjoy a variety of activities both days of the event including: living windows, pictures with Santa, Victorian stroll and dance, wagon rides, costume contest, living nativity, a chuckwagon, Tales from the Top, a Historic Walk and more, beginning at 6 p.m.

Start your engines and head out to the Will Rogers Downs for the 2018 Lawn Mower Races! The practice laps will begin at approximately 5:00 PM, followed by the heat races, then featured races. Those who wish to be in the pit area during the races must be registered (signed release waivers, etc.) before 4:30 PM. If you are interested in participating in the lawn mower races, contact Harold McDonald at (918) 695-1305.

Watch the Claremore High School drama students perform in ‘The Crucible’ in the Robson Performing Arts Center Black Box Theater at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 at the door.

Claremore Restoration Church of God’s Matthew 25:35 Missionis giving away coats to those in need, 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the Claremore Community Center on Soiux. Coats for kids, men and women in many sizes are available, free to those in need. They are also accepting donations. To donate or for more information call (918)240-2512.

Monday, November 19

Blood Drive at the Claremore High School Performing Arts Center, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The public is highly encouraged to stop by due to a regional blood shortage.

Children’s Free Soccer Clinic taught by the RSU women’s soccer coach at the Claremore Community Center. The clinic will be appropriate for both boys and girls, ages 5-12. Participant need to pre-register to reserve their spots with Ron Paris 918-342-2522.

The Claremore Elk’s Lodge would like to invite you to the Earl Clark Senior Luncheon at 1820 Summit Drive in Claremore at 11:30 a.m. Join us for a free lunch for senior citizens.

Grief often hits hard during the holidays, which is why Light of Hope is hosting a seminar with a licensed professional counselor to offer tips and insights on how to get through the holidays. The event is free and open to the public. Those who attend will also be able to design a Christmas ornament in honor of their loved one. The seminar runs from 6:30-8 p.m.

Tuesday, November 20

Join the Will Rogers Library for creativity, calm and conversation with the Adult Coloring Club! We'll provide coloring sheets and pencils, or you may bring your own. Come to the library and color yourself calm at 11 a.m.! Adults 18+ only please.

The Green Country Beekeepers meet on the third Tuesday of every month at the Will Rogers Library at 6 p.m.
