Charlie “Chuck” Ingersoll, 80, of Macomb, Ill. passed away at 11:01 a.m. Saturday April 7, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. He was born Feb. 17, 1938 in Lindsay, Calif. to Charles M. and Florence E. (Harrington) Ingersoll. He married Mary E. Detjen on Nov. 20, 1959 in Watsonville, Calif. She preceded him in death.
He is survived by three children, Kristi (Eric) Schluter of Tulsa, Okla.; Kim (Tom) McCool of Rover, Ark.; Kelly (Anne) Ingersoll of Macomb, Ill.; four grandchildren, Jason (Blair) Schluter, Jenny (Billy) Brashears, Miranda McCool and Janai Schluter; six great-grandchildren, and two grand-pups Moose and Mollie Ingersoll.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, six siblings and one grandchild.
Chuck loved gospel music and was a member of the Disciples Quartet. He was an Elder Emeritus at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Claremore, Okla. Chuck was blessed with 52 years of marriage to the love of his life Mary E. (Detjen) Ingersoll. He loved spending time with family, especially with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Chuck really enjoyed eating shrimp, chicken lips and chocolate chip cookies, especially when brought by visiting friends. He was also quite proficient at Wii bowling.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday May 26, 2018 at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) with Rev. Charles Ragland officiating. Graveside services and burial will follow at 4 p.m. at the Oney Cemetery in Oney - Albert, OK. Memorial contributions can be made to the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) 200 E. 5th Street, Claremore OK 74017.
