DUNCAN, Okla. — Police have arrested a Duncan man accused of three counts of lewd molestation.
According to court documentation, Michael Howard Phillips is accused of three counts of lewd molestation, two of which involve two different four year old children and the third involves a seven year old child.
Lewd molestation is punishable by three to 20 years in jail and up to a $1,000 fine. If found guilty of the accused crimes, Phillips will have to serve at least 85 percent of his sentence before becoming eligible for release.
Information documents indicate the accused molestation happened between Nov. 2, 2018, and Aug. 2, 2019, “in a lewd and lascivious manner.”
Separate forensic interviews with the two younger children indicated the incident of Phillips touching them only happened once, though at the same time. Interviews with the third child indicate it happened on more than one occasion for them. The third child said in the interview it made them feel “scared a little bit.”
Bail for Phillips is set at $250,000. He will reappear for a preliminary hearing conference at at 9 a.m. Oct. 16.
