SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Rogers State Softball fell in its series finale on Sunday at St. Mary's falling in a pitcher's duel 1-0 to the Rattlers.

Andrea Morales and Staci Johns dominated in the circle as both pitchers allowed just four hits in the game. Morales added three strikeouts without giving up a walk, while Johns had five strikeouts and had two walks.

The difference in the game came in the fifth inning when Abigale Carney hit a solo homerun off of Morales to lead off the inning for what proved to be the only run of the game.

Rogers State would give itself a chance in the seventh inning to tie the game as Abigail Taylor hit a pinch hit single and then Jaylan Gibson followed it up with a bunt single. However, the Hillcats would hit a ground out and then strikeout with runners on second and third to end the game.

The Hillcats will return to action on Tuesday as RSU continues its road trip in Texas, traveling to Laredo to take on Texas A&M international in a doubleheader. First pitch is set for 12 p.m. against the DustDevils.
