If it’s important to our readers, it’s important to us.
Did you know you can submit a news tip or story idea to the Progress?
We receive these tips somewhat often- readers call or submit online, just directing our attention to something they've seen recently that they 4hink might be newsworthy.
But more often, something comes up in conversation and we hear, "Well, I didn't think it was important enough to call in," or "I didn't know I could do that."
Here's the thing- if it is important to you, it is important to us.
That's not to say every single tip will develop into a printed story. Without fail, every winter we receive news tips from individuals who are upset that ice caused their neighbor's tree to fall into their yard and they want us to "do something." That one isn't usually a story.
Everyone we interact with in a given day has a story to tell. And we know all of our readers have unique perspectives and experiences.
You know what's happening in your housing addiction and what the folks in your office are asking questions about. And those things matter to us.
Our newsroom team welcomes these tips, even the ones that don't pan out.
There are a lot of ways to get your ideas and observations to us.
You can click the Submit a Tip button on our website or email us directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our readers who prefer social media can submit their tips that way on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
Between 8am and 5p.m. during the work week, you can call the office at 918-341-1101.
If that's too much technology for your taste, stop by the office and see us.
