If you asked city leaders across the nation what is one amenity they would love to have in their city as a catalyst for growth, high on their checklist would be the presence of a four-year university. They recognize that a university spurs economic growth and improves the quality of life for citizens.

For the past 20 years, Claremore and the surrounding area have been impacted positively by the presence of Rogers State University. Today, RSU serves more than 3,300 students and is the only public residential university in the Tulsa metropolitan area. The presence of RSU graduates is woven tightly into the fabric of Claremore.

In 2019, the State Chamber Research Foundation found that RSU generated $55.5 million in direct expenditures, which supported about $93.4 million in total economic impact. RSU employees and students support small and large businesses and contribute to our tax base. Our campus amenities add vibrancy to Claremore’s quality of life.

As RSU has benefitted Claremore, the University has been blessed by the support of the community’s residents. This support has allowed RSU to grow and fulfill its mission, but more importantly, it has made a difference in the lives of countless students. In many cases, community support was the difference in allowing a student to complete a degree…to fulfill a dream.

As RSU celebrates its Homecoming and its 20th year as a four-year university, the Rogers State University Foundation will conduct its inaugural Giving Week, February 10-15. Our goal is to raise $20,000 for scholarships and program support.

On behalf of RSU and its students, I ask you to consider making a gift to RSU during Giving Week. During this week, the impact of your gift will be doubled through a $10,000 matching gift challenge offered by one of our strongest supporters. Your gift of any amount is valued and appreciated. If you have never contributed to RSU, I offer an invitation to make your first gift.

You can donate online by clicking on the Give to RSU link at the top of our home page (www.rsu.edu) or directly at www.rsu.edu/development-foundation/give-to-rsu/. You may also deliver a check - payable to the RSU Foundation – to the Office of Development. All unspecified gifts will be used to fund scholarships for students with significant financial need.

Thank you for your consideration of a gift and thank you to the citizens of Claremore for their unwavering support of Rogers State University.
