NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING
BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONER’S
FOR ROGERS COUNTY, OKLAHOMA
PLACE: Rogers County Courthouse, 219 South Missouri, Room 1-109, Claremore, Oklahoma
DATE & TIME: Thursday, April 1, 2010, at 10:00 O’clock A.M.
ITEM 1: CALL TO ORDER:
Chairman Kirt Thacker called the meeting to order at 10:00 A.M.
ITEM 2: ROLL CALL TO ESTABLISH QUORUM:
Determine that Notice of Meeting and Agenda were properly posted in accordance with the Oklahoma Open Meeting Act. Chairman Kirt Thacker, Commissioner Dan DeLozier and CommissionerMike Helm were present and quorum established.
ITEM 3: FLAG SALUTE:
Commissioner DeLozier led the salute and Pledge of Allegiance to the
ITEM 4: PRAYER:
Commissioner Helm said a prayer.
ITEM 5: DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING THE APPOINTMENT OF AN ELIGIBLE PERSON TO FILL THE VACANCY IN THE OFFICE OF THE ROGERS COUNTY ASSESSOR RESULTING FROM THE EARLY RETIREMENT AND RESIGNATION OF ASSESSOR MELISSA ANDERSON, EFFECTIVE APRIL 1, 2010, AND TO COMPLETE THE CURRENT TERM OF THAT OFFICE FOR WHICH A GENERAL ELECTION WILL BE HELD IN NOVEMBER, 2010 -Chairman Thacker commented that Melissa Anderson, in her letter of resignation to the Board, recommended Scott Marsh, complete her unexpired term of office as Rogers County Assessor, because of his thirteen years of experience as a deputy in the Assessor’s office and he has received his Assessor Advanced Accreditation through the Oklahoma Accreditation Program and is very capable of performing the duties as Rogers County Assessor. Chairman Thacker continued that in most circumstances the 1st Deputy would fill the position of a retiring officer. However, on March 17, 2010, he had a conversation with Lisa DeLozier, 1st Deputy County Assessor about the position of County Assessor and she assured him that she was not interested in the position of Assessor. (see letter) Chairman Thacker made a motion to appoint Scott Marsh as Rogers County Assessor with Commissioner DeLozier seconding the motion. Roll Call: Thacker-aye, DeLozier-aye, Helm-aye. Motion carried.
Chairman Thacker informed Scott Marsh the Board unanimously had just appointed him as the Rogers County Assessor and Marsh accepted the position.
ITEM 6: RECESS OR ADJOURNMENT:
Chairman Thacker made a motion to adjourn the meeting with Commissioner Helm seconding the motion. Roll Call: Thacker-aye, DeLozier-aye, Helm-aye. Motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 10:04 A.M.
