With the recent release of district and regional assignments for Class 4A through Class B, the high school basketball playoffs are right around the corner.

The area assignment for Claremore in Class 5A has also been announced, with regional brackets set to be released at a later date.

All girls games are scheduled for 6:30 p.m., followed by the boys games at 8 p.m.

Here is a look at the Rogers County slate:

CLASS A

Beginning Friday with the district tournament, Foyil will be the first area team to experience playoff action.

In Area II, the Denisha Posey-coached Lady Panthers (4-15) will take on Prue (12-10) at 6:30 p.m. at Davenport in District 4 action. The winner advances to play Davenport (17-3) on Saturday, while the loser in eliminated. The winner and the runner-up of the district advance to a regional sub-site at Ripley.

The Foyil boys (7-14) and coach Aaron Posey also play Prue (7-17) at Davenport. A win would send the Panthers to the District 4 title game against Davenport (18-4) along with a berth in the Ripley sub-regional.

The area site is at Cleveland.

CLASS 4A

In Area II, the Verdigris boys and girls will host McLoud for the District 2 title on Saturday, Feb. 22. Regardless of the results, the No. 7 Lady Cardinals and coach Mike Buntin, along with the boys and coach Mike Houk, will advance to the regional tournament at McLoud.

Also in Area II, the Catoosa boys and girls will host Bristow in District 4 on Friday, Feb. 21.

The Indian boys and coach John Coons, along with the girls and coach Kayla Fourkiller will advance to the sub-regional at Tuttle with the main site being McLoud.

The area tournament site is at Midwest City.

In Area IV District 4, the Sequoyah boys and girls host Locust Grove on Friday, Feb. 21. The Eagles and coach Larry Grigg, along with the girls and coach Richie Burks, will advance the regional sub-site at Daniel Webster in Tulsa. The main site is at Ft. Gibson.

The area site is at the Brooks Walton Activity Center in Skiatook.

In Area I District 6, the Oologah boys and girls will host McLain on Saturday, Feb. 22.

The Lady Mustangs and coach Doug Winters, along with the boys and coach Nathan Smith, will go straight to the regional at Perkins-Tryon.

The area site is at Stillwater.

CLASS 3A

The Inola boys and girls will host Westville in Area IV District 3 action on Friday, Feb. 21.

The Longhorns and coach Clyde Barkley, along with the girls and coach Travis Bryant, will then play at the regional main site at Adair.

The area site is at Checotah.

CLASS 2A

The Chelsea boys and girls will head to Rejoice Christian in Owasso for the Area II District 1 tournament with the host school and Fairland.

The Lady Green Dragons and coach Jamie Quigley will play Rejoice Christian, and the boys, coached by Addam Edwards, will face Fairland.

Both are playing for a spot in the district title a game, and a loss in the first round would mean the end of the season.

If they manage to advance, they will head to the regional sub-site at Rejoice Christian with the main site being at Haskell.

The area site is at the Mvskoke Dome in Okmulgee.
