The Heartland Christian Athletic Association has released its brackets for the upcoming regional basketball tournaments.
Claremore Christian is among the programs competing and will be looking to make a return trip to the Class 1A state championship games. Last year, the boys captured the state title over Liberty 66-60 despite entering the playoffs with a 1-12 record, and the girls lost to Liberty 51-50 on a 3-point buzzer beater.
This year, the boys will follow a four-team bracket format in which the top three teams advance to the state tournament. The girls are in a three-team regional, which will follow a round-robin structure and send two teams to the state tournament.
Both are in the Central Regional.
Regional locations were determined by the HCAA Basketball Committee and based on coaches rankings, school location and gym availability due to COVID-19 and other factors.
