Sidney Roland, Kyra Crenshaw and Emma Blackwood were determined to finish the Regent Prep Invitational on a high note, and they did just that.

The Sequoyah trio made quick work of its opponent and earned a third-place plaque for the trophy case, combining for 47 points in a 65-31 victory Saturday afternoon in Tulsa against Summit Christian. The Lady Eagles won the game in the first half, for those three girls scored a combined 32 points before halftime.

Roland led all scorers with 24 points while Crenshaw finished with 12 points and Blackwood added 11 points.

As a result of that domination, Sequoyah (3-4) led 37-13 at halftime and ballooned that advantage to 34 points at 54-20 heading into the fourth quarter. Crenshaw scored all her 12 points in the first half and Blackwood managed only two points during the second half, but Roland continued her hot shooting with 13 additional points in the final 16 minutes – including 10 in the third.

In all, Roland hit five of the team’s nine 3-pointers.

Aidan Falcon was a bright spot for Summit Christian, tallying 12 points in the loss. Janae Jones came close to double figures as well with eight points.

The Lady Eagles return to action at 6 p.m. Tuesday night at Chouteau-Mazie.
