GROVE — The Grove Ridgerunners scored the last 10 points of the game Friday night and turned back Oologah, 25-22, in a District 4A-3 high school football game.

T.J. Griffith kicked a 27-yard field goal to seal the Mustangs’ fate and keep Grove in a first-place tie in the district race.

Junior Colton Gehrke scored his second TD of the game, a one-yard run, earlier in the fourth quarter to pull Grove into a 22-all deadlock.

The Grove comeback ruined a solid performance by the Mustangs. Jordan Barrett threw two touchdown passes to Colton Barnes to build a 22-15 lead early in the final period.

Brett Swindell scored on a 55-yard run to open the game for Oologah, and the lead seesawed from there until Griffith’s decisive kick.

Grove pushed its record to 4-0 in the district, the same as Wagoner and Miami, and 5-2 overall.

Oologah, which had scored 100 points in its two previous starts, slipped to 2-2 and 3-4.
