Friday night’s Claremore Sequoyah football scrimmage with Skiatook will be played at Sequoyah.
The scrimmage, originally scheduled for Skiatook, was changed recently.
The freshman game is set for 5 p.m., followed by the junior varsity at 6 p.m., and the varsity at 7 p.m. A towel donation is requested for admission.
All nine Rogers County high schools will be in action Friday night. Most will feature junior varsity and varsity teams.
Foyil will play host to Sallisaw Central in the Panthers’ first appearance as an 11-man football team.
After a successful run at the eight-man level, the Panthers are moving up to Class A due to enrollment increases.
The Foyil scrimmage begins at 6:30 p.m., and admission is a towel, laundry detergent or a blank VCR tape.
Claremore also has a debut of sorts in its scrimmage with Ponca City.
The Zebras will take the field for the first time under new coach Keith Bell. He was at Oklahoma City Millwood last season. The first game begins at 6 p.m.
Another round of scrimmages is scheduled next week, with the regular season beginning the weekend of Aug. 31-Sept. 1.
The Claremore Progress Football Preview, featuring photographs, team outlooks and player profiles, will be published on Aug. 27.
