Lilley Leads Way For Track & Field at Pittsburg State Invitational

PITTSBURG, Kan. – Djiron Lilley led the way for the Rogers State Track & Field program on Saturday at the Pittsburg State Invitational, setting an NCAA Provisional time in the 60-meter Dash.

Lilley ran a time of 6.85 in the event, which was .11 seconds off of his personal best time and is second in the NCAA South Central region this year.

Jacques Morgan and JaQuan Johnson also ran in the event. Morgan was .02 off of his personal best with a 7.23. Johnson ran a 7.41.

Lilley also ran a top time in the region in the 200-meter Dash. The senior ran a 22.14, which is the fifth best time in the event in the region.

Alfred Thomas and Audrianna Morgan also ran top 10 times in the region at the event. Thomas ran the sixth best time in the region in the 400-meter Dash, running a 48.87.

Morgan ran to a fifth-place finish and a top 10 time in the region in the 60-meter Dash. Tizhane Brooks (8.06), Tamaya Tutson (8.13) and Kayla Pruitt also ran in the 60-meter Dash.

Olivia Couch and Kyem Baffour made season best distances in their jumping events. Couch cleared 4.75 meters in the long jump. Baffour reached a distance of 13.79 meters in the triple jump.

Several freshmen made appearances in different events for the first time. Katelyn Callender ran a 9.89 in the 60-meter Hurdles. Jaylen Hogue ran a 25.74 in the 200-meter Dash.

In distance events, Katelyn Alexander ran a 2:28.8 in the 800-meter Run.

On the women's side of the Mile Run, Noel Lawver ran a 5:56.3 in her debut in the event, while Elizabeth Reidlinger ran a 6:06.7 in her second time running the event.

In the Men's Mile, junior Byrun Ratliff ran a 4:46.9.

Preston Turner led a group of three Hillcats in the 3000-meter Run, finishing with a 9:34.8. Tristan Owens ran a 9:40.0, while Cruzito Chavez ran a 9:46.8.

Nick Williams ran the longest event of the day, finishing with a 15:49.0 in the 5000-meter Run.

Both the Men's and Women's programs ran the Distance Medley Relay for the first time this season. On the women's side the group or Redlinger, Tutson, Jaeden Coon and Alexander ran a 14:05.0.

Ty Graham, Morgan, Ratliff and Colton Green ran a time of 11:07.0 in the Men's DMR.

Track & Field will have a week off before returning to action back in Pittsburg, running in the 4th Annual Gorilla Classic. The meet will be held February 8-9.
