The MIAA announced the 2020-21 men's and women's basketball schedule Thursday afternoon after it was approved by the by the Association's CEO Council on Monday, June 15, and the Institutional Representative Council (IRC) on Tuesday, June 9.
In response to the NCAA requirements in maximum and minimum allowable contests for the 2020-21 men's and women's basketball seasons, the MIAA Scheduling Subcommittee modified the existing schedule, which will now only feature 22 conference games — 11 home and 11 away — beginning with the start of the season.
Teams can adjust dates if desired through a conference office approval process.
The Hillcats will begin the season at home with games against Missouri Western and Northwest Missouri State on Nov. 19 and 21.
Following Thanksgiving Break, the Hillcats will play six more games in December to close out the fall schedule. Rogers State will also host Emporia State and Washburn on Dec. 10 and 12. The Hillcats will close the semester at Fort Hays State on Dec. 19.
Rogers State will begin 2021 with three-straight games at the Claremore Expo Center, hosting Newman, Central Oklahoma and Northeastern State on Jan. 7, 9 and 16.
The final home games of the season will come on Feb. 11 and 13 against Fort Hays State and Nebraska-Kearney. The regular-season finale will be on Feb. 27 at Northeastern State.
The MIAA Tournament will begin on March 4-5 with the top eight teams qualifying for the quarterfinals. The MIAA Tournament Semifinals and Championship will be March 6 and 7.
Times for all games will be announced at a later date.
