Several talented high school baseball players from Rogers County have earned well-deserved recognition by being named to the Oklahoma Baseball Coaches Association's All-Star teams.
The exceptional skills and dedication of these athletes have earned them a place among the best in their respective classes.
In Class 5A, Claremore saw three of its players selected for the East All-Star team, with Grant Evans, Zak Bridges and Derek Scuggins being recognized for their outstanding performances throughout the season.
Despite their individual successes, the Zebras faced disappointment as a team, finishing the season with a record of 19-15-1 overall and 7-4 in District 5A-4 for a third-place finish. They narrowly missed the state tournament for the third-consecutive year.
Verdigris also showcased its baseball talent, with two players making the Class 4A East All-Star team.
Jax Ryan and Reese Roller demonstrated their exceptional skills on the field, contributing to the Cardinals’ successful season. However, despite finishing with an impressive overall record of 22-11 and a perfect 12-0 in District 4A-5, the team surprisingly missed the state tournament for the first time since 2009.
Meanwhile, Oologah had two players, Adam Earnhardt and Teagin Nelson, named to the Class 4A East All-Star team.
The Mustangs had an excellent season, finishing with a record of 25-13 overall and 10-3 in District 4A-7, earning them a second-place finish. The team successfully reached the state tournament for the first time since 2017, but its journey came to an end in the Class 4A quarterfinals when it lost to Elk City 6-1.
Elsewhere, Brett Burks from Sequoyah earned a spot on the Class 3A East All-Star team.
Burks exhibited his abilities throughout the season, contributing to the Eagles’ solid performance. The team finished the season with a record of 17-11 overall and 8-4 in District 3A-6, securing a respectable third-place finish.
These talented athletes worked tirelessly throughout the season, displaying their love for the game and their dedication to their teams. Their selection to the OBCA All-Star teams is a testament to their exceptional abilities and serves as a well-deserved recognition of their hard work and commitment to the sport.
