Oologah High School senior Garrett Martin closed out a successful wrestling career Friday afternoon, receiving Class 4A Small East All-State recognition.
Martin picked up the honors in the 215-pound division after earning a state championship two weeks ago at the Class 4A state meet in Oklahoma City.
Along with Michael Williams and Nick Haugen of Claremore, the three wrestlers were the only Rogers County athletes to land postseason accolades for their efforts on the mat.
At the 4A state meet, Martin defeated Vinita’s Kolbi Phillips 10-2 to win the 215-pound championship.
Oologah finished seventh overall with 34 total points.
