Oklahoma not overlooking clash with unpredictable West Virginia

OU's Brady Manek dunks the ball during the Sooners' game against Texas, Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019, at Lloyd Noble Center.

Oklahoma’s 2019-20 non-conference schedule will include a trip to Kansas City’s Sprint Center.

The Sooners will play Stanford on Nov. 25 (8:30 p.m., ESPN2) in the 2019 National Collegiate Hall of Fame Classic, where OU face Stanford on Nov. 25. OU will then play either Butler or Missouri on Nov. 26.

OU will also host William & Mary on Nov. 18 and Maryland-Eastern Shore on Nov. 21 at Lloyd Noble Center as part of the preseason tournament.

The matchup with Stanford will mark the first meeting between the programs since 1997. The Cardinal leads the all-time series 2-1 with OU’s one win against Stanford coming in Kansas City in 1951.

OU could face former Big 12 foe Missouri in the second round of the tournament, which would be the second game between the schools since the Tigers left for the SEC. Their last meeting against Missouri came in 2014, which was also the last year OU faced potential second-round opponent Butler.

The Sooners hold a 113-97 series advantage over the Tigers, while they are 3-2 vs. Butler.

OU is 3-0 against Maryland-Eastern Shore but has never met William & Mary.

OU’s 2019-20 non-conference has yet to be finalized. The Sooners have announced games, however, on Nov. 9 against Minnesota (in Sioux Falls, South Dakota), Nov. 12 against Oregon State (in Portland, Oregon) and a game at Creighton, which does not have date yet.
