1. How many returning starters do you have on offense and defense?
We have seven starters back on both sides of the ball.
2. How has the summer gone, and what are some strengths you’ve seen your team develop?
The summer has been good! I think that our skill position development and our Linemen's work ethic are the strengths that we have developed. Our players are very hard workers that love competing and want to win several football games!
3. What is the biggest question mark facing your team as you head into full practices?
Youth at part of the offensive line positions. We have to replace 3 starters on the offensive line, but I am confident that we have a great group of young players who are hungry to get on the field and compete for a position.
4. Who are your key returners, and how have they improved since last season?
Dylan White - a 2 year returning starter at QB. Spent a portion of his sophomore season injured. He is poised to return and have a great year.
Reese Roller - a 2 year returning starter at OLB. Has put on 20 pounds since the end of his sophomore season. Had 22 sacks as a sophomore and looks to have a great senior year.
Caden Parnell - a 2 year returning starter at RB/LB. Has worked hard and is a dynamic playmaker.
Yale Gray - a 1 year returning starter on the OL/DL. Has had a great offseason in the weight room and is very physical up front.
Mason Young - a 1 year returning starter on the OL/DL. Has had a great offseason in the weight room and is very active on both sides of the ball.
Evan Anderson - a 1 year returning starter at WR/DB. Led our team in receiving last season. Will be a great contributor on both sides of the ball.
Isiak Layton - a 1 year returning starter at WR. Will look to continue off of the success he had down stretch last season.
Tyler Mitchell - a 1 year returning starter at WR. Will see plenty of action on both sides of the ball. Looks primed to have a great season!
Dalton Person - Had much of his sophomore year cut short due to multiple COVID quarantines. A very dynamic receiver and corner. Had a great offseason. Looks to have a great season.
Drache Marveggio - a 1 year returning starter at LB. Had part of his sophomore season affected by COVID quarantines. Had a great offseason and will be a great defensive contributor.
Michael Stump - a 1 year returning starter at LB. Hopes to build off of the success he had down the stretch of last season.
5. Which game stands out to you as key to reaching your team’s goals?
The ultimate goal is to win a district championship and a state championship! In order to reach those goals, we have to have some great games against some very good opponents.
Berryhill and Vinita look to have great years this year and will be very tough football teams.
Holland Hall is fresh off of an undefeated season and a state championship. They are definitely the team to beat and will be very good again this season.
